The new Mister Switzerland simply wants to "live a good life" (swissinfo)
A 21-year-old economics student with a love of poker and Sylvester Stallone films has been crowned Mister Switzerland 2011.
Luca Ruch, from Frauenfeld in canton Thurgau, weighs 77 kg and is 181cm tall. A fan of Inter Milan, he plays poker, reads free newspapers such as 20 Minuten and prefers films to books, particularly those with his “childhood hero” Sylvester Stallone.
He told the judges he looks for loyalty in a girlfriend and will give her cuddly toys instead of flowers, as they don’t die.
He enjoys cooking “a good piece of meat”, but “salad dressings are my hobby”. His goal: “to live a good life”.
As the winner he goes away with SFr50,000 ($54,000) in modeling contracts.
A 12th candidate was disqualified for not having Swiss citizenship. Luca de Nicola had qualified automatically for the final after winning the Italian Mister Switzerland section, but was still waiting for his naturalisation to come through.
