Mariana Valente, Miss Canada, takes part in registration and fittings in the Bahamas on Saturday in preparation for the Miss Universe 2009 competition that will air on NBC at 9 p.m. Aug. 23. Contestants began arriving at the Atlantis resort over the weekend; they'll spend the next few weeks seeing the sights, appearing for charity and competing in preliminary judging before the finale.
