The Holmesville-raised model paraded happily along Newcastle Ocean Baths promenade for a photo shoot for women's magazine Marie Claire on a recent visit home.
Proving that modelling talent runs in the family, the 26-year-old was joined by her nieces Sienna, 6, and Holly, 4, and her nephew Cameron, 2.
Ms Hawkins told the magazine her time at the restored baths with her nieces and nephew brought back fond memories of her own childhood.
"I spent all of my time in and around these beaches," Ms Hawkins said.
"The little hangouts, coastal walks, beautiful beaches and the weather . . . the lifestyle here is fantastic."
She said she was constantly moving due to her modelling commitments but always felt a sense of safety when she returned to her mother's home.
Marie Claire executive fashion editor Jane Roarty, also a former Novocastrian, said the popular Newcastle swimming spot was the ideal location for the magazine's annual summer spread.
Last year the summer photo spread was shot at Sydney's Bondi beach.
Ms Hawkins and her family will appear in the February issue of Marie Claire.
