SHE was Miss Universe. Now Jennifer Hawkins' next starring role will be as a blushing bride.
Hawkins has romance on her mind and has confirmed she is planning her much anticipated wedding.The fashionplate has engaged a wedding planner and is heading overseas next month to search for inspiration for her wedding gown's design.
While she is yet to lock in an official date, the Myer beauty indicated she was keen on tying the knot with her long-time love, Jake Wall, early next year.
"I have got the vision that I want. I know what I want, it is just about locking in a date, a season, where it will be," Hawkins said.
"I am so excited. I can't wait. It probably won't be (this year), no, because we are halfway into the year.
"Soon though. It has been full front of my mind."
The face of Myer, who has been in Western Australia shooting the retailer's spring-summer campaign with Kris Smith and Jess Hart, revealed she would look for ideas for her bridal gown while overseas next month filming for Channel 9's Getaway travel show.
"I will investigate," Hawkins said.
"I'll talk to designers here and overseas. I am sure some Australian designers will be in there (her wedding party) in some way."
Hawkins, who has been dating Wall since before she won the life-changing Miss Universe title in 2004, admitted she had originally hoped they would marry this year.
"That is what we had planned, but it has not gone that way," she said.
"It is actually fun being engaged, so we want to live that a little bit more."
