Miss Universe Botswana postponed

The Miss Universe Botswana beauty pageant that was slated for June 25, has been postponed to July 10, Safie Sekgwa of Mos Syde Group, who are organising the pageant, have announced. “The Miss Universe 2010 grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC). The pageant was initially slated for last Friday, but we had to reschedule it because no network/broadcaster was going to be available. We understand Botswana Television (Btv) has an agreement with FIFA to broadcast all the World Cup games.” Asked if this does not contradict the global pageant’s deadline for name submissions, Sekgwa said they had pleaded with the Miss Universe pageant organisers to give them an extension due to the circumstances beyond their control and it was granted which means they will have to have handed in the name of the Botswana representative by July 11. He reassured Batswana that the show will definitely take place. He further stated that this Saturday (July 03), they will have a launch party at Cresta Lodge, Gaborone.
