Interviewée par notre équipe, Chloé Mortaud, Miss France 2009, revient sur son expérience au concours de Miss Univers, au cours duquel elle s'est classé 5ème Dauphine. Regardez.

Nous avons rencontré Chloé Mortaud , Miss France 2009 , qui nous a parlé de sa récente participation au concours de Miss Univers 2009 .

Cette dernière nous confie "avoir beaucoup aimé" participer à ce concours de beauté, à sa grande surprise et ce "malgré tout ce que me m'ont dit les anciennes Miss France", avant d'ajouter "j'ai même préféré à Miss France ".

Et la jeune femme a bien honoré notre pays en se classant 5ème Dauphine de Miss Univers : "je me suis donné à fond", nous dit-elle.

Au sujet de Miss Venezuela , nouvelle Miss Univers 2009 elle dit : "je suis très contente qu'elle ai gagné".

Elle ajoute que contrairement à ce que l'on pourrait penser, "il n'y a pas eu de crêpages de chignon". Pourtant avec 84 filles en compétition, cela aurait pu vite déraper.

Elle confie que c'était "une compétition très saine" et que " Geneviève était très contente" de son classement.

When Catherine Irving takes to the stage at the Miss Earth beauty pageant in November she will be the fifth Manawatu resident to do so in six years.

Miss Irving, who is studying towards a Bachelor of Communication at Massey University, was crowned Miss Earth New Zealand in Auckland on Saturday and will represent New Zealand in the Philippines later this year.

She follows in the footsteps of fellow Massey student Rachel Crofts (now in her second year of study), who won the New Zealand title in 2008.

Feilding's Claire Kirby won both Miss Manawatu and Miss Earth in 2007.

In 2005, Tiffany Pickford from nearby Hunterville took the Miss Earth title, and Rachael Tucker of Palmerston North won it in 2004.

Rather than it being "something in the water", Miss Irving said she believes the high calibre of the Miss Manawatu pageant has helped girls from this region stand out from the crowd.

"They get good quality training here in Palmerston North."
