Stage for Miss Universe Pageant launched

VietNamNet Bridge – Hoan Cau Nha Trang Company and Universe Corporation on Monday held the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate a multipurpose Crown Convention Center, where the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant takes place, in the recreational complex Diamond Bay Resort located in the resort city of Nha Trang. Contestants of the Miss Universe 2008 take a parade on Tran Phu Street in the seaside city of Nha Trang. The companies said they had poured some US$9.8 million to build the complex covering some 10,000 square meters, in which there was a 7,500-seat stage equipped with high technology sound and lighting systems imported from the U.S. and Europe. Besides, there was a conference and press center able to accommodate some 1,000 reporters who are flocking there to cover the pageant contest Miss Universe 2008 scheduled for July 14. "We have made every effort for the success of the contest as well as for the completion of the largest Crown Convention Center in Vietnam," Nguyen Quoc Toan, general director of Universe Corporation, said in a statement.
