As the title suggests, those competing for Miss Universe should look out of this world, but these competitors look like they’re stepping out to a bad taste fancy dress party.
Tara Vaitiere Hoyos is (apparently) the image of BritishnessAs part of a photo shoot ahead of the contest in Las Vegas, all 83 contestants were told to wear outfits which supposedly showed what country they were representing.
Our own Miss Great Britain, Tara Vaitiere Hoyos, looks like a cheap souvenir in her Beefeater garb complete with wet-look leggings because that’s what we wear, apparently.
But judging by the rest of the ghastly designs, the 20-year-old can count herself lucky that she only had to wear a garish uniform.
Jesinta Campbell, Miss Australia 2010Miss France’s Malika Menard wore a mini Eiffel Tower on top of her head while Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell’s outfit complete with high-heeled Ugg boots was branded ‘a dingo’s breakfast’ by some.
The entrants will face off in the contest proper at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Vegas on Monday.
Miss Hoyos, who is British-Colombian and was born in west London, said: ‘I think this year that it’s extremely close.
‘With nerves and everything in dresses – just little different factors included – I don’t think you can know until the final day.’
