COOKING up a storm ... Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch is set to appear on Celebrity MasterChef
MISS Universe Australia Rachael Finch will be adding a bit of spice to our TV screens when she appears on Celebrity MasterChef later this month.
The Townsville beauty has confirmed she will be among the 18 contestants for the Channel 10 program, which goes to air from September 30.
Other confirmed starters include Swans AFL star Ryan O'Keefe, singer Alex Lloyd, actor Steve Bisley, Test cricketer Simon Katich, comedian Peter Rowsthorn, Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan, fashion designer Alex Perry, author Peter Fitzsimons, Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges and journalist Indira Naidoo.
Confident in her abilities and obviously passionate about food, Ms Finch yesterday said she was primed to wow the program's judges George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Garry Mehigan.
"Growing up in a big family has helped me learn different things and experimenting is a big thing for me," she said. "I love cooking with fish and meat and I like to keep things simple and fresh and flavoursome."
Ms Finch has become hot property since returning from the Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas – where she placed fourth – with several lucrative advertising offers on the table.
"I'll just look at them and see what's best, I guess. The main thing is to stay grounded and remember where you come from – and Townsville will always be my home,"
