The Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2009 pageant will be held next Monday at Queen’s Hall with a gala show. This year 12 candidates will be vying to be crowned winner of the local leg, to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the final show in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12.
For the past three weeks franchise holder Michael Raghunanan, of Michael’s Vogue Designs has been working intensely alongside educator, broadcaster, criminologist and president of Miss Trinidad and Tobago New York, Renee Cummings in what was termed “Pageant Boot Camp”.
These training sessions were aimed to further develop the delegates in aspects of public speaking, social skills, beauty pageant basics and personal development.
Raghunanan believes and hopes to make the pageant in Trinidad and Tobago a fair one and more inclusive, by accepting delegates from all walks of life to reflect the
underlying theme of Miss World, that is “Beauty With a Purposes.”
The Executive Committee of Miss World Trinidad and Tobago also believes that a collective effort in pulling off a successful pageant will ultimately lead to Trinidad and Tobago redeeming its position as being a consistent producer of the most beautiful women at pageants worldwide.
Additionally Miss World Trinidad and Tobago will aim to sensitise the national community about the potential economic investment opportunity of fashion and beauty, which has worked for TT counterparts such as Venezuela and others.
