Miss World 2008 will be held on December 13th, 2008 at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Doubt previously existed in some quarters as to whether the competition is on December 12th or 13th and also whether the show would take place in the Ukraine or South Africa.
However, South Africa was the long announced venue and the competition is in progress. The Eastern European country was going to host the pageant but with political and international tensions building around the area, organisers chose the safe route and switched the host city to Johannesburg, following a bid by that city's tourism company.
Trinidad and Tobago is being represented by Gabrielle Walcott who is right now in South Africa representing her country, and can be seen in the photos below.
China's Zhang Zilin is the reigning Miss World and she will crown the winner of this year's title.
