Miss Universe-2002 winner seeks an Orthodox church marriage with her German husband

Moscow, December 20, Interfax – The winner of Miss Universe-2002, television hostess and actress Oxana Fyodorova intends to seal her civil marriage with resident of Germany Phil Kroft with an Orthodox sacrament of marriage.

‘Church marriage is a very important event in life. I am an Orthodox Christian and I do not want to secede. I am sure we will do it’, Fyodorova said in an interview to NTV fragmentally published by the Komsomolskaya Pravda daily on Thursday.

Oxana got married at the end of summer. Her husband Phil has not been baptized yet, but he confessed he intended to adopt Orthodoxy.

Fyodorova starred in the role of a bride in the Christmas Stories last year.

‘When I was standing before the altar (during the shooting – IF), I thought that my real church marriage will be a considered step. Not because it is fashionable. After all a person gives a promise to be faithful forever in the church’, the actress noted.

Fyodorova was awarded For benefactions by the Russian club of Orthodox patrons last year and received The Faith and the Word prize during the 2nd Festival of Orthodox mass media.
